Oh hey, it's the face I made when I discovered several glitches that happened when I exported the first few episodes of #WhatAreChristians! 😓 At least I found them before the episodes went live! So far I've been able to fix them, but I'm not sure yet if this means I'll have to push the release date I'm targetting back or not. Stay tuned, I guess! 🤪

Nothing like starting the day off with a flare-up. 😞 But, praise God: the pain didn't last long, so I've only been dealing with the post-flare exhaustion all day. Yet, in spite of that, I was able to make a huge chunk of progress editing episode 5 of #WhatAreChristians! With the clock ticking to release day (hopefully later this month!), I knew I couldn't afford to do nothing today. I gave myself permission to rest as much as possible, but with the goal of getting myself to a state where I could summon the strength to do any amount of work, even if just for a few minutes. With that mindset, I was able to alleviate a lot of the stress that I'd normally feel (which would of course be self-sabotaging!). I'm so thankful that God's allowed me to learn how to work around and with my chronic illness, and the coaches He's brought into my life!

Super excited about this find at our library's book sale this weekend! It has Mere Christianity, Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Problem of Pain, Miracles, A Grief Observed, and The Abolition of Man... and I got it for $2! They're all books I've been wanting to read for a while, so I'm pretty stoked. 😁 Anyone have any favorites from these?

One thing I was doing with the writing of each episode of #WhatAreChristians is assigning each draft its own color, following the industry-standard system. First draft is white, 2nd is blue, 3rd is pink, then yellow, then green (which is as far as I went with episodes 1 and 3). Printing it on the corresponding paper allows for a nice at-a-glance reference system so when I'm digging through the clutter on my desk I know what I'm looking at!
(Please tell me I'm not the only one who's work space is in a constant state of clutter! 😅)

I finished filming the host segments for episodes 3-6 of #WhatAreChristians! Being a one-man cast and crew definitely has its challenges, especially when you need to make sure you're in focus! But as they say, necessity is the mother of invention. Enter a "Super Dad" Beanie Baby bear sitting in for my focus reference! 😂
Before I dive into editing, I'm working on getting websites updated and ready for this new phase of focus for @standingsunproductions. This year marks ten years since we began filming what started as a microbudget web series that then transformed into a microbudget feature film shot over two summers. It is my first and only feature film directing credit (so far! 😉) and it was early in my filmmaking career. It's by no means perfect, but God has allowed the message of the story to come through despite its technical flaws. I'm beyond amazed at how it continues to find an audience so many years after its release, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here.
