Uncle Bob shares his version of the classic fairy tale “The Wolf and the Kids.”
Over the years of doing my Christian movie review show Indy Christian Review, I used a lot of the characters from my other skits and shorts, as well as introducing a few new faces. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my company Standing Sun Productions, I decided to put together a “Where are they now?” video for the characters. I do plan on making more videos with some of these guys in the future. 😉
At long last, Doctor Who: Family Reunion is done! Enjoy our fun little romp into the world of Doctor Who by clicking here.
So, how about some behind the scenes pictures and info?
First off, yes, this does take place in the Storyteller Universe, as indicated by the cameo of Uncle Bob at the beginning. During the Battle for the Hat, Uncle Bob faked his death at the hands of his brother Uncle Billy and stayed in the TARDIS for a time. Apparently, the Doctor took him on as a companion after Genocron was defeated… though it doesn’t seem to have worked out! Then again, it’s really not surprising considering the first time the Doctor and Uncle Bob met, Uncle Bob ended up tricking the Doctor into mowing his lawn for him (watch that adventure here).
You may have noticed that after arriving to help Susan, the Doctor puts on a fedora (more on the significance of that in a bit). This is the first time this version of the Doctor has been seen wearing a hat. The reason? Well, the “cold open” scenes before the opening titles was filmed a couple months before the rest of the video. The majority of the video was filmed on a day off during the filming of In His Steps. Well, I acted in that movie, which required that I get a haircut, which made it too short to slick back for the Doctor’s! So, rather than have a continuity error, I just went ahead and wore the hat to hide the too-short hair. A classic bit of movie magic, you might say. 😉
But now, this does pose a problem for Storyteller continuity! Because you see, that’s the Storyteller’s old hat. The hat that regenerated into a new one! How does that work? Well, fear not faithful viewers (all four of you), all will be revealed in time.
Alright, enough talking, time for some behind the scenes pictures! Click on any of them to view full size.
After we filmed, Stacey and I did a photoshoot of promotional poses (plus, I think, to drag out being in costume as long as possible!). Here are some of the ones that didn’t make the cut for the poster.
There you go! I hope you enjoyed watching the movie, as going through these behind the scenes photos. We certainly had a blast pretending we were really in Doctor Who for a day. 😀
So, my beloved plaid fedora is no more.
This happened yesterday on Talk Like A Pirate Day:
Something fishy’s going on…
Behind the Scenes
On September 19, 2012, Talk Like A Pirate Day, Cowhead the Pirate took over Indy Christian Review.
Cowhead the Pirate takes over Zack Lawrence’s show Indy Christian Review. After doing a review of his own, Zack breaks free and tries to fight off the invader. During the battle, Zack’s fedora is shot… and suddenly regenerates into a new hat!
I love Doctor Who. Definitely my favorite sci-fi after Star Wars. For those that don’t know, the main character of Doctor Who is an alien time traveler called The Doctor (I’ve got my own version of him that appears in my videos on occasion). As a Time Lord, the Doctor has the ability to regenerate when he’s dying, gaining a completely new body and personality, though it’s still the same character with the same memories. In this episode of Indy Christian Review, my hat does the same thing after Cowhead shoots it. If you didn’t know I was a geek, this should make it quite apparent to you!
When I was working on the schedule for this season of ICR, putting a show with time travel on Talk Like A Pirate Day set this whole crazy scheme in motion. With this video, The Battle for the Hat has officially begun.
Also significant about this video is that we finally have our first glimpse of the Mysterious Enemy. Who is he? Patience, all will be revealed in time.
September 20, Zack informs his assistant, Mr. Researcher, about what happened to the hat. The two begin to wonder if there’s a connection between Cowhead’s take over and the Mustard Monk’s attack. Meanwhile, the Mysterious Enemy recruits yet another agent… this time with Uncle Bob in the crosshairs.
This was a spur-of-the-moment video to help explain things to anyone confused by the Indy Christian Review episode, and also to let viewers of the Zack Lawrence Show YouTube channel know what’s going on. The video that Mr. Researcher is editing is a music video that will be going up on the channel on September 21st.
Despite the visual difference from the Chronicles episode, the cloaked figure is indeed the Mysterious Enemy. He is able to alter his appearance somewhat, the reason for which will be explained at a future date. The assassin he’s employing is someone with a very long history with Uncle Bob.
Uncle Bob gets a visit from his Canadian cousin, Cousin Maple! Will this result in an international incident?!
